PREGNANCY YOGA

Rest, relax, reconnect

Whether you're brand new to yoga or returning to your mat, pregnancy is the perfect time to nurture your body and mind through this gentle practice. Yoga offers countless physical and emotional benefits that can help you feel more grounded and connected throughout your pregnancy.

Practising yoga while expecting supports your body through every stage of change, right up until birth. Studies show it can help ease anxiety and depression, reduce stress, and even support a smoother labour—potentially shortening its duration and increasing the likelihood of a vaginal birth with minimal intervention. And if you’re planning a caesarean birth, building strength and stability beforehand can ease your postnatal recovery.

And who knows? You might also discover a warm, supportive community of parents-to-be along the way.

Pregnancy yoga: About

The why

Connect with your baby

Pregnancy yoga is as much about bonding as it is about movement. Slowing down, breathing deeply, and tuning into your body helps you connect with your baby and create calm, peaceful moments together.

Look after your mental and emotional wellbeing

Pregnancy is as much an emotional experience as it is a physical one. Yoga gives you space to slow down, tune in, and take care of your mind as well as your body—something that’s just as important as preparing for birth.

Get ready for birth

Yoga helps build strength and flexibility where you’ll need it most—especially in your pelvic floor and lower back. That can make it easier for both you and your baby during labour, giving you more confidence and control. Even if you’re planning a caesarean birth, staying strong and supple now can make recovery smoother afterwards.

Interested? I am starting a six week pregnancy yoga course on 6th November at Hoylake Parade Community Centre for mothers-to-be at all stages of pregnancy (and for partners if they'd like to join too).

If you've never been to a yoga class before, I know it can feel intimidating. I promise to offer a welcoming space where all levels, ages, bodies and questions are welcome.

If you don't think group classes are for you yet, I also teach private classes both in person and online.
