THE RETREAT
SEPTEMBER 2023

Keep your eyes peeled for the retreat 2.0

The Retreat: Welcome

RESILIENCE

/rɪˈzɪlɪəns/

Resilience (or resiliency) is the ability to withstand adversity and bounce back and grow in spite of life’s challenges and difficulties. Some equate resilience with mental toughness, but demonstrating resilience includes working through emotional pain as well. Acknowledging tricky, sticky or hard situations, learning, reflecting and then moving forward is resilience. Yoga, breathwork and meditation all help to build resilience.

Over five days in the Alps, we'll take the time to pause with a programme of daily yoga, breathwork, meditation, walking and sleep which will start to build resilience. We’ll explore thought awareness, how to begin to rewire thought patterns in the brain through cognitive restructuring to empower growth and self-discovery.

If you’re looking to build resilience and deepen your practice surrounded by mountains, taking the time to breathe and be in nature then this is for you.

YOGA

Our practice will include asana, meditation, pranayama, yoga nidra and yin yoga. There are two yoga practice spaces on this retreat which we will utilise depending on the time of day. The outdoor yoga deck is overlooked by mountains with the sounds of waterfalls nearby. The indoor downstairs studio has a floating log fireplace and is perfect for cosy evening sessions.

FOOD

No matter your dietary requirement, we will make sure to support individual needs. If you want to chat to us about the menu, then we're here. From breakfast, to snacks, through to dinner, our food will use local and seasonal produce for nutritious, delicious vegetarian meals. We will put plants first, with options for things like cheese available (it is France after all).

TRAVEL

The nearest airport is Geneva. If your arrival is on the suggested flight, a transfer will take you to the chalet 75 minutes away. Every effort will be made to accommodate peoples’ itineraries and include you in the group transfer. The nearest train station is Cluses, 40 minutes by road. FAQ

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

Our retreats are all-inclusive. The chalet is fully equipped with towels, toiletries, drinkable tap water and yoga equipment. In terms of clothing, during the day you will need ones in which you feel comfortable on and off your mat, clothes for walking and hiking. For the evening, no need for anything fancy, however if you decide to join the final dinner in the town then you may want to wear something less casual. A swimsuit is needed for the hot tub and sauna (and wild dipping if you choose to join that!). You may want to travel wearing a pair of mountain shoes or trainers to save space in your luggage. Please bring a reusable bottle, small rucksack and sunscreen. You may want to also bring a hat and sunglasses. Mountain weather is unpredictable so you need to be ready for all weather, so a long-sleeve top and a waterproof jacket will be useful as well.

WHAT WILL THE YOGA LEVEL BE?

Every yoga session will be accessible for all levels with options to modify and adapt to suit you and your body.

We do recommend having practiced with either Pascale or Jenny a few times before coming on the retreat. You can do this by booking online on this website, or getting in touch for on-demand class recordings.

WHAT LEVEL WILL THE WALKS/HIKE BE?

Our walks will be for beginners. Our hikes will be around 4 hrs, of a more moderate level. Some hiking experience is preferable although not essential. You will need to be able to carry a small rucksack containing basic essentials (suncream, water etc.). If you ever feel like skipping a walk or a hike you can always do the alternative practice with Jenny or chill out and enjoy free time.

HOW MANY OTHER GUESTS WILL THERE BE?

During this retreat, we will have no more than 10 guests. It's an intimate number in order to let everyone enjoy their own space.

TRAVEL

Only one group transfer, both ways, is included in the price. Any person travelling outside the group has to bear their own costs. A taxi costs roughly €140 each way.

Once we have more or an idea of who is joining, we will let you know the suggested flights.

CANCELLATIONS

There is a £300 non-refundable to reserve your place. The balance will then be due by 17th July, 2023 via bank transfer. Cancellation after 30th July 2023 will result in forfeiture of 50% of total payment (minus deposit), cancellation after 7th August 2023 will result in 75% forfeiture of total payment (minus deposit). Email me if you have any questions pascalereesyoga@gmail.com.

INSURANCE

We ask that guests be insured for all activities they are taking part in.

PRICE PLANS

You can pay all in one go or in installments. If you want to join this retreat but feel money is an issue then please message me. No judgement or questions asked. We will keep some reduced price options available for anyone whose finances took a big hit last year and for those from ethnic minority backgrounds.
